Former Member Sunmi Rumored to Rejoin Wonder Girls For Group's Comeback This Year

While Wonder Girls has been quiet in the past years, it was recently reported that former member Sunmi will rejoin the group for its future activities. The information was revealed by former member Sunye's  uncle through his personal SNS page.

A screenshot of a particular SNS post by Sunye's uncle, Min Won Ki, started circulating the internet on May 6 which raised speculations of the possibility that Sunmi might have or might be returning to the group after 5 years of separation. The photo's caption, which was posted on March 28, 2015, is more suggestive, in which Min Won Ki wrote, "This is Wonder Girls' Sunmi. In the second half of this year Sunmi will be rejoining [Wonder Girls] as the group makes a comeback." So that's double good news for fans: 1) Sunmi's back, 2) Wonder Girls' is having a comeback since the group announced their hiatus in 2012.

JYP Entertainment spoke to Bridge Economy on the matter that will blow everyone's happy bubbles. "There are rumors floating around that Sunmi is rejoining [Wonder Girls]. Nothing has been finalized yet [regarding this]," the rep said, but made no mention about the speculated Wonder Girls comeback in the latter half of the year.

Sunmi is one of the five original members of Wonder Girls who debuted in 2007. She stayed with the group for three years, having joined promotions for Wonder Girls' biggest tracks "Tell Me", "So Hot", and the infectious international hit "Nobody". It was in 2010 when Sunmi announced that her departure from the group to concentrate on her studies and take some rest. On August 2013, Sunmi staged her solo debut with a sexier image and the track "24 Hours".
