Kim Hyun Joong Leaves Heartwarming Letter To Fans Before Leaving For Military: "I'll Return As a Better Man"

Through his letter, Kim Hyun Joong expressed his deepest apologies to everyone he's hurt and thanked fans for the support.

Amidst the controversies hitting him left and right, actor-singer Kim Hyun Joong quietly enlisted in the army early this week. It was recently revealed that prior to bidding his temporary adieu from the limelight Kim Hyun Joong left a heartwarming hand-written message for his fans. Through his letter, Kim Hyun Joong expressed his deepest apologies to everyone he's hurt.

Kim Hyun Joong wrote:

"Hello, this is Kim Hyun Joong.

I apologize for having to say goodbye in this manner, instead of expressing it in a more pleasant way. Honestly, I've been feeling really guilty lately for showing a negative side of myself to the public. I'm also upset that I can't openly freely express my thoughts because of my status as a celebrity.

I don't know how to apologize. I just feel like I'm letting a huge debt sitting on my shoulders. This is why I had difficulty organizing how I should apologize while trying to say goodbye at the same time in one letter."

Kim Hyun Joong first addressed his fans that have been there for him through the good and the bad times. "To all my fans, I'm feeling different emotions but for the most part I feel heavily sorry and at the same time thankful. When I was in a dark time of my life and people were shocked by what I had done, all of you help me cope up mentally. Ever since the beginning you all stayed by my side and put your trust in me. [Your support and trust] gives me courage and strength. I don't know how I will be able to give back to you all."

He also responded to people who have expressed their disappointment at him and his action, "For everyone who I may have hurt or who are angry at me, I don't know how I should apologize to all of you properly since I'm not that good at expressing myself."

In his letter, Kim Hyun Joong said that although he's leaving behind a huge debut, he believes that his 2-year service in the army will be a chance for him to change and be reborn. "I will return as a better person," Kim Hyun Joong promised.
