Nicole's Rep Confirms The Singer Will Return to the US Once Her Contract With DSP Media Expires

KARA's Nicole Jung has sealed her decision to leave the group by announcing that she will go back the US to pursue further studies in dancing and singing.

With Nicole's contract with DSP Media coming to a close in January next year, a Japanese news outlet has reported that KARA member Nicole will return to the US as she has firmly declined renewing her contract with the said agency.

According to Sankei Sports News in Japan, Nicole is currently considering about continuing her studies in the United States beginning the spring semester in February. The news outlet said that Nicole's representative confirmed this, saying Nicole will go back to Los Angeles, California to train and study to further her singing and dancing skills under the guidance of top American artists. Nicole hopes to return to Korea after completing her studies and proceed with a solo music career.

Shortly after the news broke out, DSP Media issued a statement saying the agency has not discussed anything with Nicole especially with regards to her plans to study abroad."

Early in October this year, DSP Media announced that Nicole's contract will expire naturally next year and the singer unfortunately showed no interest in renewing her contract. Nicole will automatically depart from KARA after the group wraps up its Japanese tour, which is currently ongoing and the group still has two more shows to finish.

In line with the issue, Nicole has left a message to fans on her SNS page saying if she should continue with KARA she would have to do it with another company. Japanese Kamilias, however, have started a petition requesting Nicole to stay with the group. But despite these efforts, it looks like Nicole is definitely pursuing a different path.
