It was just recently when the website Chaebul.com reported that the wealthiest man in stocks in Korea was YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, with YG's stocks rising amounting in $200,000,00 because of the viral hit video of PSY's "Gangnam Style." But it looks like that as of December 3; the said website has recorded a different wealthy man which goes by the name of Lee Soo Man, well-known for the owner of SM Entertainment.
Lee Soo Man now owns stock holdings currently worth 187 billion KRW ($176 million USD). At the start of 2013, Lee Soo Man's stock decreased by 4.3% but seemed to rise by the end of the year.
JYP Entertainment's J.Y. Park came in third because his number of shares raised more than four times the original amount after the business union. J.Y. Park's stock holdings rose, increasing his stock value from 7.4 billion won (~ $7 million USD) to 24.6 billion (~ $23 million USD).
Key East's Bae Yong Joon came in fourth with stock worth 23.9 billion won (~ $22.5 million USD) and celebrity Park Soon Ae came in fifth with 7.5 billion won (~ $7 million USD). Actor Jang Dong Gun had 3.6 billion won (~ $3.4 million USD) while both Kang Ho Dong and Shin Dong Yup had 2 billion won (~ $1.9 million USD).
