Wonder Girls' Sohee Revealed that She will not be Renewing Her Contract with JYP Entertainment

Recently, JYP Entertainment revealed that their top stars' contracts are ending in two years. But Sohee's contract seems to decide not to renew hers.

Fans of the Wonder Girls assumed that it will be difficult for the group to the music scene knowing Sun's break being her as a new single mother and considering that the members are into their solo activities. But, it seems that the group is taking the step that fans assume since that Sohee is not renewing her contract.

With her imminent contract expiring, rumours have been circulating that Sohee met up with an actor agency with the consideration of saying goodbye JYP Entertainment and focus on her acting career.

Because of these speculations getting bigger, JYP Entertainment issued a statement with a press release stating more thorough information with regards to the renewal of contract of the Wonder Girls' members, and that sadly, Sohee is not part of the list of members who are renewing. The agency wrote,

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

We are informing you that our artist the Wonder Girls' members Sun, Yenny, and Yubin have agreed to renew their contract and we are currently working out the details with them. (Sun, Yenny, and Sohee's contracts expire December 21st, Yubin's contract expires in September of next year)

Sohee has decided that it's a time for a personal change, so she has revealed her intention to focus on acting in a new environment, so after much discussion, we have decided to honor her wishes.

From henceforth, we will decide on the time period and the direction of activities for Wonder Girls depending on the individual activities of the members.

As always, we want to once again thank everyone who supports and cheers on the Wonder Girls."

Though it seems to be expected, it still surprises K-pop fans an original member of the Wonder Girls has now decided to take a different path. But it does not mean that she will leave her mother agency, JYP Entertainment. There are no confirmations to whether Sohee has been definite to change agencies. If she decides to stay with JYP, they only will be writing her contract as an actor.
