Ailee Admits She Doesn't Like Being Labeled As Hyolyn's Rival

On the January 4th broadcast of KBS 2TV's "Immortal Song", powerful vocalists Hyolyn and Ailee were pitted against each other on the show's "Rival Special" episode.

On the January 4^th broadcast of KBS 2TV's "Immortal Song", powerful vocalists Hyolyn and Ailee were pitted against each other on the show's "Rival Special" episode.

However, when asked by MC Shin Dong Yup about their battle, Ailee said it didn't feel like to have them refer to each other as 'rivals'.

"I'm not that okay with it. I'm close friends with Hyolyn and I feel embarrassed to be called her rival," Ailee said.

Hyolyn also commented, "I was close with Ailee even before she debuted with an album because we filmed a drama together."

Since they were already battling it out, both singers were asked which they value more: friendship or winning. Although both chose friends, Ailee jokingly commented, "I chose a laidback stage because friendship was more important. But it seems like Hyolyn's really in it to win it because she prepared all these routines like dancing."

In the end, Ailee's rendition of Shin Seung Hoon's "You Who Shone Inside A Smile" won her the round with 365 points.
