Super Junior member Leeteuk has returned to performing his military duties today, January 11, after he took an emergency leave to attend his father and grandparents' funeral service.
Leeteuk was given the allowed five days and four nights of leave, and has now returned to his post in Injegun, Gangwondo at 2PM KST. He will be completing the remaining 7 months of his military service.
A representative from the Military Manpower Administration has addressed the question of whether or not this tragedy will affect Leeteuk's service. "In the case of a parent's death while a soldier is still in service, there is no rule that allows early discharge. There are, however, exemptions or case of reduction but only based on grounds of difficulty that will compromise the family's livelihood. If such a case rises, the soldier's assets, monthly income, and number of family members in the household will be screened and taken under consideration. Other necessary documents will also be required to check if they are allowable for exemption/reduction."
Leeteuk was on temporary leave from service after hearing the news about his father and grandparents' death in January 6. Leeteuk, along with his family member and close friends, attended the funeral service for his late family members in January 8th.
