Singer IU celebrates her 5^th year ever since she started.

IU posted a special message for her fans on her official fan cafe, 'From.IU', stating how time really flies because 5 years have already passed. She thanks her fans for sticking out for her even though she has not been that active in Korean music industry this year. She also feels strengthened as she has filmed her music video for her new album, "Modern Times."

She also told her fans how she enjoyed her time off, sleeping, the thing she never did for a very long time. She also stated that she has been snacking on the Japanese sweets her agency has given her for Chuseok and will be opening the letters her fans sent her.

She also thanks having her debut anniversary and says that it feels like having two birthdays in a year.

IU has been absent in the Korean music scene due to her KBS Drama, "You're The Best Lee Shoo Shin," which has ended last August 25.

Her album "Modern Times," is scheduled for release on October 7. It had been reported that her album will contain different music genres ranging from jazz, bossa nova, latin to pop.
