Since semi-trot singer Jang Yoon Jung is expecting a child sometime in June, she has opted to step down from her role as MC on SBS' "1000 Song Challenge". Taking her place will be SISTAR's Hyorin, who will be appearing on the show as a guest MC for four weeks.
Broadcasting representatives told TV Report on March 31, "Jang Yoon Jung completed her final recording of '1000 Song Challenge'. Hyorin has been appointed as the guest MC of '1000 Song Challenge', and as a temporary replacement for Jang Yoon Jung."
Hyorin's label, Starship Entertainment, also confirmed her casting in an interview with Tenasia. "Hyorin has been appointed as the [guest] MC. Starting from the April 20th broadcast, Hyorin will be appearing for 4 episodes."
Jang Yoon Jung is expected to return to filming "1000 Song Challenge" in September, but it is still being decided if a new permanent MC will be added or if the singer will resume with her position after several guests MCs take her stead temporarily.
Congratulations on the new baby, Jang Yoon Jung!
