BTS's Rap Monster recently surprised fans and viewers about his scholarly achievements during his school days.
On the April 1 broadcast of Mnet's "Beatles Code 3D", MC Shindong revealed that he's heard people say Rap Monster was part of the top 1% in the entire country in terms of school grades.
Rap Monster confirmed the statement, saying, "In a trial examination for language, math, foreign language, and social studies, there was a time I was in about the top 1.3% of the whole country," he continued, "My parents wanted me to get a stable job."
Shindong even gave further proof of Rap Monster's being an over-achiever in school, saying, "You already went over English through the TOEIC in junior high school." Rap Monster replied, "My personal talent is English in the hip hop style."
Rap Monster continued to impress the group when he said, "I continued my place in the top 1% of the school while starting to pursue music as a hobby with some Hongdae underground hyungs in junior high."
Students in Korea are very much pressured to do well in their studies so that they get into good schools for college and eventually land better jobs. Looks like Rap Monster is a walking example of grace under pressure!
Looks like Rap Monster is a perfectly example of an all-around student: excellent grades and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
