On May 2, actor Kwon Sang Woo made a guest appearance on the Chinese variety program titled, "Bring You To The Stars". During the episode, Kwon Sang Woo talked about his life as an actor and shared some behind-the-scene stories of his the incredibly famous drama series "Stairway to Heavy".
"Stairway to Heaven" is perhaps one of the most epically successful and well-known drama series ever. It touched the hearts of many and remains a fan favourite to this day. Due to its strong storyline, even Kwon Sang woo can help but shed tears when he re-watches "Stairway to Heaven". He expressed, "Unlike many of my other drama series, 'Stairway to Heaven' is one that I don't mind watching again. I stumbled across a channel that was showing a rerun of the drama and I got so absorbed in it that I cried along with the characters." It shows how "Stairway to Heaven" holds a special place in Kwon Sang Woo's heart, as it does in the hearts of many of its devoted viewers.
Continuing to reminisce about "Stairway to Heaven", Kwon Sang woo said, "In the drama, we particularly had a lot of running scenes. I ran in dress shoes for over five hours for a particular scene where I had to run at almost the same speed as a car, just to catch up with Jung Seo (Choi Ji Woo), who was on a bus."
Throughout his acting career, Kwon Sang Woo is a favourite when it comes to casting for drama productions for "tragic love stories". As for how this came to be, Kwon Sang Woo commented, "I think it's because of the fact that I am able to focus all of my concentration during sad scenes." He continued, "Because I have seen and been through many difficult times in the past, [my experiences help] me emotionally with my acting." Kwon Sang Woo is referring to his sad childhood of growing up without a father.
Furthermore, Kwon Sang Woo expressed that he would love to continue acting for the next 20 years, regardless if he's only going to be playing a supporting role, proving his passion and love for the art.
