Monday and Tuesday nights are heating up with drama series going neck to neck in terms of TV ratings. The May 5 ratings for Monday-Tuesday showed a close competition between the drama series from the three major broadcasting networks in Korea.
In the recent survey results from AGB Nielsen Korea, MBC's new drama series "Triangle", featuring Lee Bum Soo, JYJ's Kim Jaejoong, and ZE:A's Im Siwan, speared the top spot with 8.9% viewer rating for its premiere episode.
MBC's "Triangle" is already heating up with a steamy shower scene featuring hottie Kim Jaejoong. The drama series is also drawing a lot of attention after Jaejoong announced that this may be his final drama series before he enlists in the military.
Solo artist Ailee has rendered her vocal prowess for the first OST for "Triangle". The song "Do My Hair" was featured on the first episode of the drama series. Representative of the drama described it as, "Much like the story, the song has caught the viewers' attention and helped them fall into the mood of the drama"
The rating was 2.2% lower from "Empress Ki's" pilot episode. "Empress Ki" aired on the same time slot, and was the highest rating drama at the time, if not ever.
Second place went to SBS' "Doctor Stranger" which stars Lee Jong Suk. The drama scored 8.6% in ratings. On the show, Lee Jong Suk plays a genius doctor who defects from North Korea and ends up practicing medicine in an upscale hospital in South Korea.
In third place was KBS' "Big Man", which stars Kang Ji Hwan. "Big Man" ended up with 8% viewer ratings.
With the drama series coming with close viewer ratings ranging from 8%-8.9%, it still not clear which one will lord over the others for a long period until its finale. Furthermore, with "Triangle" and "Doctor Stranger" still being fairly new to the competition, there still remains much room for change in terms of ranking as the dramas' storylines progresses.
In the meantime, which series are you watching for Monday and Tuesday?
