MBLAQ's Lee Joon and ZE:A's Siwan Goes Head-to-Head for the "Best New Actor" Award in the 50th Baeksang awards!

The two idols will go face-to-face in winning the award on May 27. A lot of idols have entered the world of acting through movies and dramas, but not all of them have not had breakthrough and successfully got the people's attention.

A lot of idols have entered the world of acting through movies and dramas, but not all of them have not had breakthrough and successfully got the people's attention. But it seems that there has been an exception as MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and ZE:A’s Siwan have been noticed in their acting skills.

Lee Joon, in the film, “Rough Play”, had a role as Oh Young, an actor who suddenly went famous, however it was short-lived. His commitment could be seen, when he agreed to do a bed scene that almost showed his body sans clothes.

In general, idols have been choosing what they would be starring in as to give them the image maintenance. However, it seems different for Lee joon as his acting showed his flexiblity as an actor and idol, he successfully won the “Rookie Award” at the 1st Wild Flower Awards in April.

Lee Joon is currently starring in tvN’s thriller drama “Gabdongi” as Ryu Taewoo, a barista with schizophrenic personality.

Meanwhile, ZE:A’s Siwanhas not been that popular, when he debuted with the band in 2010, however he was noticed when he acted as young Heo Yeom in MBC’s drama “Moon Embracing The Sun” in 2012. Prior to that, he acted in KBS’s drama “Man From The Equator” and KBS’s “Hope For Dating”.

The film, “The Attorney” in 2013, made him more noticeable for it was a box office success, being watched by 10 million people. He c-starred in the film with senior actor Song Kangho, he starred as Park Jinwoo, a student activist.

The idol had received many great reviews for his acting in the movie, especially when he had to act in torture and escape scenes, making it a highlight like in the webtoon.

Siwan will also be in MBC’s drama “Triangle” with Lee Bumsoo and Jaejoong of ‘JYJ’. He will star as Yoon Yeongha who has a happy life after he was adopted by a wealthy family, however he has a trauma because he was once abandoned.

Meanwhile the two idols, Lee Joon and Siwan will be competing for the “Best New Actor” award at the 50th Baeksang Arts Award that is scheduled to be held on May 27.
