"You Who Came From The Stars" To Be Remade into Movie In China

The drama series, which took the hearts of viewers all over Asia and the world, will be released in China as a movie.

Heads up "You Who Came From the Stars" fans! Kim Soo Hyun, Jun Ji Hyun and the rest of the cast are set to reprise their roles for the movie adaptation of the hit drama series. The drama series, which took the hearts of viewers all over Asia and the world, will be released in China as a movie.

Various media outlets in China broke the news earlier this month. The reports suggest that production company, Meng Jiang Wei, was reported to have purchased the publication rights for the said SBS drama series. A representative said, "We are now at the end of the productions and discussions, and the movie is planned to be aired in the summer. If we follow the schedule well, we hope to premiere in June." However the news contradicted HB Entertainment's earlier statement. According to a representative from HB Entertainment, the "You Who Came From the Stars" movie is most likely to come out in August.

The 21-episode drama series will be packed into a 2-hour film. In addition, the movie will contain footages and clips that were never revealed in the drama series before."

"You Who Came From the Stars" was first released last year. The story revolves around a time-travelling alien (Kim Soo Hyun) who falls in love with a popular actress (Jun Ji Hyun). The drama series swept across Asia, becoming the most expensive Korean drama series sold in China before "Three Days" overtook its record. The drama series is currently airing in several Asian countries. In related news, an Indonesian rip off the movie caused quite a stir earlier this month. SBS has planned to take proper legal action against the producers of the said "plagiarised" drama series.
