Fly to the Sky made an awesome comeback this year after spending five years apart. Despite their 5-year hiatus, Brian and Hwanhee proved to fans that they're still as close as ever. Due to this closeness, some rumors suggested that the two were boyfriends. But both say they prefer the gay relationship rumors over rumors about disbandment.
In a recent interview in a café in Shinsadong, Seoul on June 10, the two opened up about their close-knit ties. "Our bickering is our team's charm," the duo said. Brian then commented that not all groups are as close as they appear to be, "Some groups say that they're close, but you can tell that they're far from close. They don't bicker with each other or even look at each other. We jokingly fight and talk as if we don't get along. Surprisingly, fans find that to be cute and fun."
When hearing comments like, "You're like a couple," Brian said, "Although it's gross if you think about it like that, our teamwork works like that." Hwanhee continued, "More so than our discord rumors, that is much better [to hear]." Brian commented, "Rather than rumors of us not getting along, I think getting complimented that our relationship is so good that we look like a couple is better."
In the interview, Brian also took the opportunity to address rumors suggesting they were both gay. "There were rumors that we were both gay and like men, but it is totally not true. To that extent, we are close and that's probably why we came across that way... Our hoobaes probably look at us and feel it too. Get along so well that you appear gay," Brian cleared up.
Hwanhee also jokingly requested fans to stop asking for signs validating their friendship. "Everyone tries to confirm whether we are close or not. They ask us to kiss or hug to confirm it. We are close, so I hope that you don't ask us to do those things."
On their concert, the guys of Fly to the Sky said, "It's our first concert in 6-7 years. It is our first concert in a long time, so we did not expect all of the seats to be filled. They sang along to our songs from the first to the last. It was a touching concert. Although it was difficult because it's been a long time and we sang a lot, we were touched."
