Rapper San E recently guest-starred on the July 2 broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star” where he talked about his experience with his past agency, JYP Entertainment, as well his personal life.
After San E introduced himself on the show, host Kim Gu Ra commented that he looked a lot brighter since he made the move to leave JYP Entertainment. San E is currently signed with Brand New Music. Kim Gu Ra and Yoon Jong Shin, keeping up with their mischief, said that he looked more brooding when he was still with JYP Entertainment, and as soon as he left his music did a lot better on the charts, basically meaning to say that he didn’t mesh well with his previous agency.
San E said, "To tell the truth, J.Y. Park would not let me use English in my songs. There are truthfully some words that are just better in English. So I was a bit discontent with that."
The MCs joked even more saying that this was because San E spoke better English that JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park.
San E later revealed that he has not gone home to the states in five years because he promised that he would not go home until he succeed. San E was happy to report that he was able to visit his family in American this past January.
The rapper said, "My father cleans while my mother works at a restaurant. They worked while taking short naps. My mother wanted me to come out on 'Radio Star' as the show lifts her exhaustion. I wanted to buy my parents a car when I earned money. It hurt me that they went around daily in a secondhand car."
In the meantime, San E, together with After School’s Raina, are topping the charts with their latest duet “A Midsummer Night’s Sweetness”.
