John Park Says He Was Once Mistaken As A Gay Man

Soloist John Park appeared on the August 22 broadcast of JTBC's "Witch Hunt" where he talked about his ideal type and being mistaken as gay.

On the show, John Park opened up about saying 'I love you,' "Overseas when you're dating someone, it's very hard to say 'I love you.' Those words invokes deep emotions." The singer said that the culture was different in Korea. He shared that there was even one time a girl, although they were close, told him she loved him even though they weren't officially going out as a couple.

John Park said, "I was actually very surprised by it. I immediately ended all communication with her."

Perhaps it's also because John Park is the type to be the dominating party in a relationship, thus he was taken aback by the girl saying "I love you" first. John Park said that he's the dominant type when it comes to relationships.

As for what he looks for in a girl, the balladeer said he is attracted to women who are neat and are petite. Shin Dong Yup then asked, "Then it's okay for you if 'everything' is small?" to which John Park replied, "I'd prefer to have her head small. I think body proportions are very relevant."

John Park is indeed a good looking guy, but like most good-looking guys, he is sometimes being mistakenly thought of as gay. He shared, "I experienced this in Korea, before I appeared on TV. While I was in the subway, some random guy went up to me and I asked me if I'd like to join him for some tea. I thought he was just a salesman, but then he said, 'By any chance, do you have any interest in me? Because I'm really interest in you,' he was really thinking I was gay. That time, there were a lot of men wearing pink clothes and skinny jeans, but I was wearing something comfy and easy."

Hong Suk Chun, who is an openly gay personality, said, "That's quite charming. To be honest, John Park's style is something that attracts gay men."

In the meantime, John Park is preparing for a comeback this September.
