DTMN's Daniel Makes an Appeal to His One-Year Imprisonment Sentence

The young singer makes an appeal after being sentenced for one year imprisonment Idol group DTMN's Daniel, who was recently sentenced to be in prison for one year, appealed to the Suwon District Court.

Idol group DTMN's Daniel, who was recently sentenced to be in prison for one year, appealed to the Suwon District Court.

The said appeal notes that Daniel is claiming unfair sentence, after him admitting to the charges against him.

His lawyer will be notified once the appeal reaches the high court and a date has been finalized.

It was on October 17, when Judge Ham Suk Cheon had gave a sentenc e to  Daniel for one year in imprisonment and a fine of 7,000,000 KRW ($6600) for the distribution and abuse of illegal drugs.  

The court mentioned, "Marijuana use may not often be recognized as illegal, but it is an undeniable crime. As he [Daniel] was dealing the drugs, thereby increasing its use, we cannot take this lightly.  However, we did take into consideration the fact that Daniel came forward voluntarily, and that he was repentant for his actions throughout the trial."

From August 2012 until February 2013, he received marijuana fifteen times from dealers then distributed it to Bianca Mobley of KBS's "Global Talk Show" and three others wherein he was charged of the dealing.

He however denied that he used marijuana but, after positive results from hair tests, he then has received the charge against drug abuse.
