Professional football player Park Ji Sung recently announced his engagement with SBS announcer Kim Min Ji.

In a phone patch with Star News, Park Ji Sung's father, Park Sung Jong, confirmed the news of the couple's marriage and said, "Last August, the parents of both sides met and discussed that the two should get married since they are of that age. The couple will most likely have their wedding in May of next year."

Park Sung Jong also expressed her thoughts about his future daughter-in-law. "She is too good for Ji Sung," he laughingly said. "Ji Sung is good at things other than soccer. Even though announcer Kim Min Ji has a lot of talents, she is not boastful and makes people feel comfortable."

The lovebirds revealed their relationship in public earlier this year in a press conference held on June 20 at the Suwon World Cup Arena Convention and Wedding Hall.

Prior to their confirmation, the two were already spotted dating, as reported by media outlet Sports Seoul TV.

Park Ji Sung rose to success and became one of the sought-after players of the English Premiere League when he played as a midfielder for Manchester United. He is currently playing for Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, on loan from Queens Park Rangers.
