Kim Heechul let out another biting comment during the November 7 episode of JTBC’s “Ssul Jeon” (War of Words). The singer expressed his dismay over the “2013 Infinity Challenge Music Festival”.
The November 7 discussion revolved around “Infinity Challenge” and how the show is taking over both variety and music show departments.
“Primary’s song ‘I Got C’ has been very well received, but it’s a pity that the significance of the festival has been tainted by his plagiarism controversy,” the MCs commented.
Kim Gura also gave his two cents on the plagiarism controversy the show and its talent are embroiled in. “The genre’s similarity is like an all-powerful shield,” pointing out that reasoning with “genre similarities” seemed like the easiest excuse for plagiarism allegations.
They also commented on the trend of chart domination on “Music Festival” which seemed most unfair. Also, the festival puts out a large selection of songs which viewers can choose from.
“This year’s festival was the most disappointing. The biggest pity was the hip hop stage. I felt that Gil was unable to fully show off his charisma,” Heechul shared.
Heo Ji Wong also said, “I can count with my fingers the number of times I didn’t watch ‘Infinity Challenge’. The show has been like a friend to me for the last eight years.” He also emphasized on the irony that was Rose Motel’s appearance on the said show.
“The band is powerless and has to rely on ‘Infinity Challenge’. But once upon a time, ‘Infinity Challenge’ was in their position as well,” Heo Ji Wong added, sympathizing with “Infinity Challenge” over the show’s changes in format.
