2PM's Nichkhun has been included in the cast for the 2014 Japanese enigmatic drama special "Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo - Prison Cram School Case" (or the "Kindaichi Case Files"), which is based on the comic series of the same title.
As stated by the Japanese music site Oricon, Nichkhun will have a role in the Japanese network NTV's drama special to be shown early next year. This will be the first Japanese drama for Nichkhun.
After he has been casted to the said drama, the 2PM singer said in a press conference, "My character will have an important role in the show. Please look forward to it. I think it's a good chance for me to learn from other actors, and make new friends too."
The upcoming drama is the next season following to "Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo - Hongkong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case," which featured Seungri of BIGBANG. It will again make actors and actresses from different countries in Asia get together. The Japanese group Hey! Say! JUMP's Ryosuke Yamada is set to return with his role as Hajime Kindaichi, along with fellow Hey! Say! JUMP member Daiki Arioka, Japanese actress Haruna Kawaguchi and Taiwanese singer-actor Wu Chun.
Nichkhun's "Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo" will be broadcasted early next year and will have a serial murder case location in Malaysia's wilderness.
