Idol group BTS is proving themselves to be a heavy contender in the charts as they showed a spike in their album sales.
According to Signal Entertainment BTS' album "The Most Beautiful Moment In Life Part 1", released in April this year, has already sold 180,000 copies. In the Gaon Charts alone, the group held on firmly to rank number 7 from May 24 to May 30. The group proves themselves unwavering amidst the presence of intense competition including K-Pop heavyweights EXO and Big Bang, both of which sell around 200,000 albums in average.
BTS is also making huge waves in Japan. Tower Records reported the BTS' DVD and photo book titled "BTS Memories of 2014" has been settling at number 1 in the regular album charts and third place in the singles album charts. The special release contains footage of the group's various live performances.
In May, "The Most Beautiful Moment In Life Part 1" also made strides in the West, entering the top 10 in Billboard Charts, specifically the World Albums chart (no. 2) and Heatseekers Album (no. 6). This earned a positive reputation for BTS, and the group's is seeing an increase in their international following.
The members of BTS were said to have been very hands-on in the creation of "The Most Beautiful Moment In Life Part 1". Since all the members participated in composing songs for the album, a representative from Big Hit Entertainment said there's a possibility the members might be given the chance to pursue solo activities in the future. Looks like hard work has paid off for the boys!
