SM Entertainment has officially confirmed TVXQ's Yunho's enlistment day. Contrary to rumors, Yunho is not enlisting on July 6 or sometime in August. The singer-actor is actually enlisting this July 21, and fans are saddened by the fact that his enlistment is coming sooner than expected.
The agency said, "Yunho will begin his 5-week basic training on July 21 onwards, after which he will serve as an active duty soldier for 21 months." The location of Yunho's assignment is being kept under the rugs as of this moment since he wishes to enlist quietly, "Yunho wants to enter the military quietly so we will not reveal the location [of the military base he is assigned to] and the specific time of his enlistment in observance of his wishes."
Yunho joins the long list of male celebrities that will enlist in the military this year. Former bandmate Jaejoong has already started his service while Yoochun will soon follow.
In the meantime, Yunho is making the most of his remaining time by interacting with fans and giving them new material to enjoy. He recently gifted fans with the release of the behind the scenes footage of his album jacket shoot and music video filming for his upcoming Japanese solo album "U Know Y". He also got fans jumping and dancing to the beat of his new song "Burning Down. The full album will come out on July 8.
Additionally, TVXQ will have their final performance as a complete group in Seoul on June 13 and 14.
