SM Entertainment's male group, EXO won an award for 2013's "Best group" at the 6th Chinese Music Billboard Newcomers Awards, which was held on December 6 at the assembly hall at the Renmin University of China in Beijing.
The Chinese Music Billboard Newcomers Awards is hosted for new artists in the Chinese music industry. The said award giving body consists of 21 award categories, including a "Best Group" and "Most Popular Group" award, given after voting and reviews by music critics.
The "Best Group" award went to EXO, and EXO's subunit EXO-M, making them win the "Most Popular group" award for two consecutive years.
EXO-M's Kris, Luhan, Tao, and Lay were present in the awards, stating in their acceptance speech, "It's thanks to our fans that the EXO of today exists. We wish to spend a happy 2014 together with everyone, and we will continue to show everyone a growing and improving EXO."
