JYP Entertainment, the agency who made 2PM, 2AM, Wonder Girls and Miss A famous, held a business conference on September 12.
The agency's Chief Executive Officer, Jung Wook, declared their purpose of diverging into more fields other than music.
He said that the company is now known, "One JYP," merging JYP Entertainment and JYP, which will focus on making good music and artist management. They are also planning to branch out later on into actor management, movies, musicals, drama production and even travel business
It is known that both JYP's competitors, YG Entertainment and SM Entertainment have already gone into different fields of business other than music.
YG Entertainment is now getting into the field of animation and Asian movie distribution, and also came out with a 3D hologram project with Everland. Meanwhile, SM Entertainment has already made its way in various productions, travel, and mobile businesses through SM C&C.
There also had been reports that JYP Entertainment is going to release three or four new groups. Two of which mentioned are male groups and one is a female group. On the other hand, another male group is said to debut to target the Japanese market, thus, having Japanese members.
