Girls' Generation gets a new record by being the first Korean girl group to achieve the number 1 spot at the Oricon Weekly Album Chart for two times with their 3rd Japanese full-length album "Love & Peace."
As previously cited, Girls' Generation didn't drop low hopes when they reached the number #1 spot on the Oricon Daily Album Chart with "Love & Peace" on the first day of release last December 11. The girls had sold 129,255 copies on its first week, climbing to the top spot on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.
This is Girls' Generation's second time to rank #1 on the weekly album chart since their 1st Japanese full-length album "Girls' Generation" which was released on June 2011. With this achievement, Oricon has issued a statement on their homepage that the group has become the first Korean girl group to achieve the accomplishment of ranking #1 on twice on their weekly album chart.
