Will T-ara's Former Member Hwayoung Return to the Music Scene as a DJ?

Hwayoung gets her own appearance as a DJ on December 31. Does this mean she will be returning as a DJ?

Recently, former T-ara member Hwayoung has been updating her fans with photos of her DJ-ing practices via her social media accounts, and finally gets her first gig coming up on December 31.

Haw young will be at the “2014 Miller Countdown Party,” at the Hannam-dong Blue Square, in where other famous DJs like DJ Koo, Park Myung Soo, and Tata will also be featured in. Hwayoung will be known as the youngest and the first female DJ at the event.

DJ Tata, who was a mentor of Hwayoung, stated, “Regardless of the fact that there is technology nowadays that automatically matches beat for you, Hwayoung insisted on starting with a solid foundation, and practices distinguishing tempo and matching beat with a 500 won coin. She’s a fast learner with a talent for DJ-ing, and is doing her very best.”

Hwayoung said, “It hasn’t been too long since I’ve started learning, but this is my first time on stage in a while; I won’t forget the excitement and passion that I’ve been practicing with, and I will show everyone my absolute best. I like the Australian twins, Nervo. If the opportunity ever arises, I’d like to create stages for people worldwide with my twin, Hyoyoung, like Nervo.”

A representative of Hwayoung’s agency Wellmade StarM commented that Hwayoung had a break this year to prepare for her DJ activities starting on the final day of 2013. The representative said, “We first kind of jokingly suggested that she try DJ-ing, but it became a real thing, and she surprised us once again.”

Hwayoung has recently signed with Wellmade StarM, home of Lee Jong Suk, and is getting ready on various activities for 2014.
