NU'EST Aron recently caused a stir for his "sexist" comments while discussing with Chocolat members Tia and Lori on the Arirang radio program "Music Access".

NU'EST Aron recently caused a stir for his "sexist" comments while discussing with Chocolat members Tia and Lori on the Arirang radio program "Music Access".

On the show Tia and Lori admitted that they preferred having guy friends over girl friends because the former had less tendencies to gossip and that both Tia and Lori are more tomboyish. Aron commented, "That's why guys are superior. In my opinion, don't take it offensively or anything, but I think guys make better friends than girls".

The girls of Chocolat agreed, and Aron continued to say that girls were cool, pretty, and good to look at but all the gossiping made them difficult friends. Aron then discussed about the "bro code" that men live by.

However, when Chocolat members opposed Aron and said guys actually do gossip a lot more than girls, the NU'EST member denied. Aron's outlook of "men as the more superior species" sparked the ire of netizens due to its sexist meaning.

To address the issue, Aron took to his Instagram page to post a message.

"First off, I apologize to anyone who was offended by my comment. I am in no way, shape, or form a sexist, and never will be. I love women, all the power to you. But there are quite a few people misinterpreting what I meant and taking my words out of context. Take the time to listen to the recordings. If you did, you'd probably know I was joking and that I was talking about FRIENDSHIP, not sexism. Like I said, those words weren't meant to hurt anyone or target a specific group/gender, and I'm sincerely sorry if they did. So quit the fighting, stop bashing on each other, and live your lives. Because I'm gonna keep livin mine. Life is too short to be fussing over little things like this. [These] are just some of my insight. Hope y'all have a good night."
