Super Junior's Sub-Unit Make Its Way To Singapore's Hit Awards

Music award giving body, the Singapore Hit Awards, which gives honor to Mandopop (Mandarin pop) has released its lists of nominees and Super Junior-M is nominated for the Most Popular Group/Band.

Super Junior-M, a sub-unit for the original Korean group, Super Junior, was formed in 2008. With the members, Han Geng, Siwon, Donghae, Kyuhyun, Ryeowwok Henry, and Zhou Mi, it was the first international music group in the Chinese music industry to have members of both Chinese and Korean descent.  The group first performed at the 8th Annual Music Chart Awards with a simultaneous release of their song,"U" online. They won their first award, Asia's Most Popular New Group, at the 5th annual Music King Awards in Macau on May 25 a month after their debut.

In September 2009, Super Junior-M released their mini album, "Super Girl." The album gave them a nomination for Best Vocal Group at the 21st Golden Melody Awards.

In February 2011, Super Junior-M resumed their activities with two new members from the main group, Eunhyuk and Sungmin, with the release of "Perfection." It debuted at number 2 on Taiwan's G-music chart, and was on the chart for four weeks.

On January 7, 2013, Super Junior-M released their second album, Break Down, along with the music video for the lead single of the same title.

Indeed, Super Junior-M is popular as its original group making it a reason for being nominated in Singapore's Hit Awards.

Singapore Hit Awards will be on November 22 at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre.
