SM Entertainment Partners With Indie Label Baljunso to Highlight K-Pop Diversity

As part of their efforts to introduce more variations of K-pop music, SM Entertainment has teamed up with Baljunso.

As part of their continuous efforts to expand and experiment with various music genres, SM Entertainment has partnered with indie record label Baljunso.

CEEO Kang Byung Yong stated on February 26, "Baljunso's goal is to revive nonmainstream genres such as hip-hop and [rock] bands and put the spotlight on them, deviating from the current influential format in K-pop."

"SM Entertainment plays a role as one of the driving force of Hallyu, and they have invested in Baljunso to highlight and globalize diversity in K-pop. As an affiliated label, we have established a strong cooperative relationship for local and global distribution, marketing, and other businesses."

To mark their official partnership with SM Entertainment, Baljunso will hold the Baljunso Worldwide Promotion in Hongdae on March 8, featuring bands HLIN, Love and Peace, EZEN, and rookie hip-hop crew Play the Siren, and more.
