On the upcoming episode of "Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook", 2NE1 shared their thoughts on being compared to Girls' Generation.
To comment on the two group's overlapping schedules, CL said, "It was coincidence how our comeback period overlapped with Girls' Generation's. Since we promoted around the same time, there were lots of questions and articles comparing the two groups. But it's a nice feeling to be compared to Girls' Generation, who is our senior by two years."
She continued, "Most girl groups aren't able to promote that long, but it's great to see Girls' Generation still remain active even for such a long time. I think there's a lot that we can learn from them."
CL also talked about how some of the songs she wrote got included in "Crush". "I created music with this 'ignorant confidence' which I got from not knowing a lot about music because I feared that if I know too much about music it would break this huge fantasy I have about it. However, there was a time during our hiatus when I started writing down my frustrations in English, because they were things I really wanted to say. I didn't purposely intend for people to hear my words, though."
But when Yang Hyun Suk saw her lyrics, he translated them into Korea, and offered to have them included in the album. The members said, "CL knows our voices very, so she arranged our parts all by herself. The songs she wrote fit the members' personalities very well."
2NE1's episode will air on March 22 at 12:20 AM KST.
