Girls' Generation and Super Junior-M ranked as one Google's top trending celebrities during an April Fool's Day event.
A representative of SM Entertainment announced on April 2, "Girls' Generation and Super Junior-M were chosen as one of the top trending celebrities at an April Fool's Day event hosted by Google."
Google continued its annual tradition of organizing special April Fool's Day events. For 2014, Google launched a new feature on Gmail called the "Shelfie" which makes use of selfies by various people (actors, singers, athletes, etc) as theme background image options.
Girls' Generation's and Super Junior-M's "Shelfies" were the leading trending celebs in Korea, and their "Shelfies" were unveiled on April 1 and April 2, KST.
Aside from the two idol groups, other famous personalities such as Katy Perry, Shakira, and actress Sophia Vergara also became featured "Shelfies".
In the meantime, Girls' Generation is preparing for their upcoming Japan Arena Tour, which will kick off this April. Super Junior-M are currently promoting their new album and single, "SWING".
