The premiere of Lee Jong Suk's upcoming SBS drama series "Doctor Stranger" has been moved to May. Originally, "Doctor Stranger" was scheduled for a premiere following the finale of "God's Gift - 14 Days" on April 28.
In a phone interview with Sports Seoul, a representative of SBS explained, "On April 28, 'God's Gift - 14 Days: The Untold Story' will be aired back-to-back with a 'Doctor Stranger' special episode. On April 29, there will be no baseball broadcasts."
Because of this move, SBS has avoided a collision with new drama series "Big Man". However, the broadcast official is not trying to avoid "Big Man", but rather the final episodes of MBC's top-rating drama series "Empress Ki".
A practical move, so to speak, since "Empress Ki" maintains a strong hold on top of the charts with a viewer rating that's enough to break records. "Empress Ki" was originally supposed to run for 50 episodes, but has been extended to 51 episodes, thus moving its finale to April 29. If "Doctor Stranger" would have pushed through with its original schedule, it would have difficulty competing with "Empress Ki" in terms of ratings.
Will "Doctor Stranger" have the same magnetism as "Empress Ki"? Stay tuned when "Doctor Stranger" premieres on May 5.
