Rookie duo 2000 Won recently sat down for an interview with media outlet OSEN wherein they discussed about their thoughts on changing their group name.
The duo said, "Before we made our debut, there was a lot of talk about changing our group name. But in order to keep our identity intact, we decided to stick with [the name]. Because our name represents money, we used to get upset when we hear people say things like, 'Is their music just worth 2000 won?' However, we're trying to be more optimistic now."
They continued, "We became known as 2000 Won. As much as we have a unique name, we also want to make unique music. While there are a lot of groups with a solid vocal foundation, we want to become a group that makes people anticipate something new."
2000 Won consists of Kim Hyo-Bin and Kim Il-Do. They debuted in 2013, but first started their rise to fame through the talent program "K-Pop Star 2"
