Song Seung Hun Confesses He Feels He Doesn't Deserve His "Daesang Award"

On the May 7th episode of MBC's "Radio Star", top actor Song Seung Hun dished about the Daesang Award he won from MBC for his role on the hit drama series "East of Eden". Both he and actor Kim Myung Min, star of "Beethoven Virus", tied for the title, which stirred a controversy on the award.

During the "2008 MBC Drama Awards", Song Seung Hun and Kim Myung Min were both nominated for their performances on their respective drama series.

However, most viewers and critics had bet on Kim Myung Min to take home award since between the two he was more noted for his acting, while Song Seung Hun received attention mostly for his popularity and good looks. That's why it shocked many when both Song Seung Hun and Kim Myung Min won the award, and typical only one actor/actress were to win a Daesang per category. The result was deemed questionable by many.

Recalling the incident, Song Seung Hun shared on "Radio Star, "To be honest, when I heard word about a possible Daesang award before the ceremony, I thought, 'That's not right'. But it would have been a weird situation for me to announce that I'm turning down an award before it was even presented."

He added, "At the time, my drama did do very well, but my thoughts have not changed since then that I did not deserve to accept the award at the time. If it was deserved, it would have been okay for me to have won the award with somebody else, but I did not think I [deserved] it yet. I want to win it again someday when I can stand there proudly to accept it."

Despite having achieved much success as an actor, Song Seung Hun still remains humble.

Most recently, Song Seung Hun starred in the drama " When A Man Falls in Love" (2013) and the movie "Obsessed" (2014).
