Akdong Musician Remains at the Top Spot in the Melon Charts for 5 Straight Weeks!

Sibling duo has maintained to be in the top spot of the Melon Charts! Akdong Musician has maintained the top spot on the Melon Album Top 20 chart for the fifth week in a row with the release “Play.

Akdong Musician has maintained the top spot on the Melon Album Top 20 chart for the fifth week in a row with the release “Play.” The group is also in the Number 1 spot on Melon’s Artists’ Top 20 at the same time.

The duo, which consists of  team Lee Chan Hyuk and Lee Soo Hyun, has been enjoing their success Ever since they first appeared on SBS audition program “K-Pop Star 2″ in 2013. Since then, they have signed a contract with YG Entertainment. Their debut album, released April 7 this year, has been written and produced by Lee Chan Hyuk.

Getting the top spot of the chart for a fifth straight week just means that Akdong Musician are now just one week short of equaling the record for the longest period ever spent at the top of the artist chart. The record holder is by labelmate, 2NE1, who have has held on the top spot for six consecutive weeks.

The album “Play” xomprises the hit songs “200%,” “Give Love” and “Melted,” and Akdong Musician recently won Mnet’s M! Countdown and SBS’ “Inkikayo” for three consecutive weeks.
