Super Junior and sub-unit member Henry bagged a total of five awards at the recently held Singapore Entertainment Awards 2014, proving that their popularity is still at its peak overseas.
The Singapore Entertainment Awards 2014 was held on May 17 at the Resorts World Sentosa Hard Rock Hotel in Singapore.
Super Junior won three awards from the ceremony while Henry went home with two awards of his own. Super Junior nabbed the 'Most Popular Korean Artist' award and 'Most Popular Magazine Cover' award. The latter award was determined by Singapore's weekly entertainment magazine U-Weekly. Henry, on the other hand, won two awards, namely the 'Best New Artist from Asia' award for his solo album "Trap" and 'Most Popular K-Pop MV' award.
Henry personally attended the event to receive his trophies and at the same time perform three of his songs at the ceremony, namely, "Trap", "1-4-3", and "Holiday". Henry's performance received an explosive applaud from the audience.
Upon receiving his award, Henry gave a speech where he said, "I'm so happy and thankful for receiving this many awards. I will work harder to become a real man by presenting better music and performance."
The Singapore Entertainment Awards 2014 is a yearly award ceremony that recognizes artists and creative material that have achieve the most success in 33 categories such as music, film, television, radio, theatre, and more. For the 6th year in a row, the Singapore Entertainment Awards is organized by Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH). The award ceremony, which also factors in online votes to determine winners, saw a total of 2.95 million votes made this year through online polls and SMS entries from the period of February 27 and April 8.
Other than Korea's Super Junior and Henry Lau, other stars also attended the event such as Alien Huang, Jia Jia, Lollipop@F (Taiwan); Ruco Chan (Hong Kong); Issac Dang (Malaysia) as well as Ling Kai and Budak Pantai (Singapore).
