As the appointed ambassador for R-16 Korea, resident b-boy Jay Park has released the official anthem for the R-16 Korea World B-boy Masters Championship, an annual international tournament organized by the Korea Tourism Organization back in July.
The song, which is titled "Respect 16" and penned by Jay Park himself, talks about his beginnings as a b-boy. The music video also features Jay Park's amazing dance skills and also that of other b-boys in the competition.
R-16 Korea introduces sixteen B-boy crews representing 15 countries and battle it out in a two-day event. The championship titles include two categories: best crew performance and best crew battle.
The performers who appear and compete in R-16 specialize in hip hop, popping, and locking.
Jay Park has been the ambassador for R-16 for three years now, beginning in 2011.
The 2013 R-16 competition was hosted by Korea and held at Seoul Olympic Park. The trophy for the Crew Performance was won by Body Carnival of Japan; the Crew battle was won by Korean group Morning of Owl; and the Solo B-boy category was won by Issei of Japan.
Here's the official music video of "Respect 16" by Jay Park, which also features clips from this year's competition.
