The officials at Seoul Metropolitan Agency have found themselves in an unusual and confusing yet amusing situation as they have been receiving a lot of fan letters addressed to the boys of EXO.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, their office has been flooded with fan mail intended for EXO. This occurrence began since last year up to now. The police say they currently have about 9 or letters at their possession as of the moment, and most of them are addressed personally to Baekhyun and Chanyeol. Furthermore, some fans have mistakenly sent in letters 3-4 times repeatedly. According to the police, the letters contain messages such as, "Although I'm an EXO fan, I'm not a sasaeng fan", "Please read this", and more.

It was later discovered that this occurrence was a result of a simple prank that started online. A fan had posted a question about where they can possibly send EXO a present, and a netizen said, "Send it to Daechi 2-dong, Gangnamgu 998", which is, as we now no, not SM Entertainment's nor EXO's dorm address, but rather Seoul's police headquarters. It seems that younger fans who were quick in believing this misinformation sent their heartfelt gifts and letters intended for the boys, but ended up in the hands of EXO members themselves.

A representative from the station also sent in a word of advice for the prankster, saying, "We can't confirm the situation surrounding this for certain, but if someone has been purposely giving out the wrong address, he or she should refrain from doing so as it could hurt the young students' feelings."

The police also reported that they are in the process of returning the letter and presents back to the senders.

Hopefully, this will be a lesson for fans to double check addresses first before.
