Jung Kyung Ho: "I Had Concerns About Playing The Role of a Serial Killer"

Jung Kyung Ho dishes out on the difficulties of playing the serial killer in "Manhole". In the upcoming thriller flick "Manhole", actor Jung Kyung Ho (Girls Generation Sooyoung's real-life boyfriend) plays the role of a serial killer who kidnaps Kim Sae Ron's character.

In the upcoming thriller flick "Manhole", actor Jung Kyung Ho (Girls Generation Sooyoung's real-life boyfriend) plays the role of a serial killer who kidnaps Kim Sae Ron's character. At the press event for "Manhole", Jung Kyung Ho shared the difficulties of portraying a madman, as well as her working experience with Jung Yoo Mi and Kim Sae Ron.

This is the first time Jung Kyung Ho steps into the role of a serial killer, and the actor admitted that he grew concerned about his role as Soo Chul because he's never played a sinister role before. Furthermore, he was worried about playing the role of someone who takes up residence in a manhole (creepy and gross at the same time!). Jung Kyung Ho shared, "Three months before we started filming, I spoke with the director about how we would portray the character of Soo Chul. [Despite my nerves], when I first started filming, got into his costume, and did my makeup, I was able to absorb the character."

As to what encouraged him to accept the role of a serial killer, Jung Kyung Ho revealed that after receiving the script, he was drawn to the story, which was a first for Jung Kyung Ho. Moreover, he admitted to be a huge fan of the director, whose short films Jung Kyung Ho had seen and admired. "I knew then that he received a lot of praise at the Mis En Scene movie short film festival," Jung Kyung Ho added. Other than the unusual subject matter and the amazing director, Jung Kyung Ho also said that he wouldn't pass up a chance to be able to work with Jung Yoo Mi and Kim Sae Ron.

Playing the role of a serial killer is a bit challenging, and for a pretty and innocent-looking boy like Jung Kyung Ho, it was that and perhaps even more. "I felt really bad when I had to do a scene wherein I have to hit a woman who goes into the bathtub. I felt horrible and I hated [the feeling]. I thought it was the last time I'd do it."

"Manhole" will give you the creeps this October 8^th as it hits theatres.
