Akdong Musician Talk About Promoting Together With Seo Taiji

Sibling powerhouse duo Akdong Musician came out with their honest thoughts on promoting around the same time as legendary veteran Seo Taiji.

Sibling powerhouse duo Akdong Musician came out with their honest thoughts on promoting around the same time as legendary veteran Seo Taiji. Akdong Musician released "Time and Fallen Leaves" while Seo Taiji came out with "Sogyeokdong". Both artists made a comeback on October 10, and the young Akdong Musician siblings said the experience is overwhelming.

In a recent interview with OSEN on October 13, they shared they think they aren't yet of the same calibre so as to deserve being put up next to Seo Taiji's name.

Lee Chan Hyuk said, "We're not on the same level as Seo Taiji. We're not on the same level so as to call this a 'rivalry' between us. We're still new, and we still have a lot to learn."

It's good to know that the duo remains grounded despite all the success they've achieved. Most recently, "Time and Fallen Leaves" have been topping multiple charts for four days straight. And in typical (and effective!) Akdong Musician fashion, the track was produce and written by Lee Chan Hyuk, proving even more that the siblings have the chops deserving of being recognized as true artists.

Lee Chan Hyuk manned the production of Akdong Musician's first album "Play". And although he received a lot of praise for his previous work, Lee Chan Hyuk still felt nervous working on the duo's new music. He explained, "I was nervous because this album is completely different in terms of style compared to the previous album. If I had to pick a song similar to [Time and Fallen Leaves] it would be 'Melted'. I didn't know how the listeners would react to it since it has a different kick to it. I'm thankful that many people love the song."

The older Akdong Musician also shared that he was nervous about being dubbed as artists "pretending to be adults" because of the different vibe their music poses. Soohyun added that friends and relatives who've listened to the song said they sound like "a mature version of Akdong Musician".
