During the October 12 broadcast of KBS2' "Entertainment Weekly", IU talked about her recent comeback and unveiled more secrets behind her new look.
In the interview, "The Red Shoes" songstress revealed that she had to exert more effort on her weight loss compared to other artists in preparation for her comeback. IU said that she gained the extra lbs when she filmed the TV drama series "You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin". As for why she wanted to shed off the added weight she explained, "I decided to go on a diet to show my different side as a singer."
IU revealed that she now only weighs 44.9kg and shared her tips for weight loss success. "I eat an apple for breakfast, a small amount of sweet potato and water for lunch, and drink protein shake for dinner." Looks like IU was really counting her calories.
And true enough, her dieting paid off as fans expressed their appreciation for IU's new look and her new album is soaring high in the charts.
IU has recently announced that she will be holding a concert for her 3rd studio album "Modern Times". The concert will be held in Seoul on November and in Busan on December.
