According to sources, Kris is apparently having difficulties getting into a Chinese entertainment agency as of the moment.

Sports DongA's latest report on Kris mentioned that after his negotiations with YUEHUA Entertainment did not end up favorably for Kris, the former EXO member jumped ship and began negotiating with Hwai Brothers. At that time, everyone seemed so sure that Kris would be given a contract by Hwai Brothers, but now things are looking pretty down for Kris.

Even though Kris had discussed with a representative from Hwai Brothers, the agency has made no official comment on his possible recruitment in the agency. It was only mentioned that Kris was in a situation that made it difficult for him to enter a contract with Chinese agencies. According to the reporter, companies are a bit hesitant to sign a contract with Kris because his recent image as a "deserter", or someone who leaves agencies, as shown in his sudden withdrawal from SM Entertainment when he couldn't handle the pressure anymore. The Chinese agencies also explained that because the Hallyu wave has such a huge impact on the Chinese market, any involvement with Kris might taint already established partnerships between Korean and Chinese companies.

As for YUEHUA Entertainment, they previously explained that they can no longer accommodate Kris because they already have former Super Junior member Hanggeg. In relation to Luhan's lawsuit against SM Entertainment which is similarly patterned as Kris' lawsuit, YUEHUA commented, "We have nothing to do with that. We look up at SM Entertainment as a model company. Just like them, we will produce excellent talents with utmost diligence."

As of the moment, Kris is currently a free agent, still unable to find a new agency after his lawsuit against SM Entertainment in May this year.
