Idol group EXO has proven that they have really become bigger than ever! When EXO came out with their first album, the then rookie group broke the record of having the most physical albums sold. With their second album, EXO broke the record for having the highest pre-sales number. And now with "EXODUS", EXO claims a new turf by breaking records on the Billboard Charts!
On the first week of sales for "EXODUS" in North America, EXO sold 6,000 copies of their album which is something that's never done before by any Kpop artist. Combine that number with their steaming counts equates to EXO's biggest album sales success.
EXO charted at number 90 of the Billboard 200 chart, making them the highest ranking male Korean idol group in history. EXO also appears in Billboard's Top Album Sales chart at number 70, joining the ranks of the biggest names in the music industry abroad.
This is also EXO's second consecutive number 1 ranking on Billboard's World Albums Chart. Nine songs from "EXODUS" also earned their places in the World Digital Songs charts. "Call Me Baby" in particularly peaked at number 2!
With this, EXO now joins the list of notable Korean artists who've made a mark in Billboard's charting history. Taeyang still holds the record for the highest ranking album by a male Korean solo artist with his album "Rise" which ranked at number 112 in 2014. 2NE1 holds the title for the highest charting Kpop act (male and female) when they debuted in the Billboard 200 chart at number 61.
Congratulations, EXO!
