Red Velvet's catchy music video for their saccharine track "Ice Cream Cake" ranked first as the most view K-Pop music video for the month of March according to Billboard. The list is curated based on viewership ratings not just in United States, but around the globe.
Billboard released their listing on April 9 in an article called "Most Viewer K-Pop Videos in America & Around the World: March 2015". Coming in at number is Red Velvet's infectious track "Ice Cream Cake" which proves that the rookie group's popularity has expanded to a global scale. Billboard noted that veteran artists would usually dominate monthly rankings, and thus it was a big surprise to see a rookie group like Red Velvet topple all other contenders and bag first place.
Red Velvet's "Ice Cream Cake" was filmed in Los Angeles, California and was the debut MV of the group's new fifth member Yeri.
The March 2015 list also calls for a double celebration for Red Velvet since the group's music video for "Automatic" also placed fourth in rank. "Automatic" was also filmed in Yeri.
Red Velvet's labelmates EXO and Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk also made it to the list, making SM Entertainment's global influence more emphasized.
