At the press conference for the upcoming drama series "The Producers", actress Gong Hyo Jin is worried that she might receive negative comments for being mean to Kim Soo Hyun in the drama.
In the upcoming drama series "The Producers", Gong Hyo Jin will fill in the shoes of Tak Ye Jin, a fictional character who's producer for the hit music show "Music Bank". Her character is described as fierce and strong-willed, and she often does not see eye to eye with Baek Seung Chan, played by Kim Soo Hyun.
At the event, Gong Hyo Jin revealed that she was originally scheduled to film a movie in June after concluding her theater play, "Educating Rita". But because the script for "The Producer" was very colorful, she knew she just had to be part of it. "I was supposed to shoot a movie this June, but I found the script for 'The Producer' to be very hilarious. The kind of comedy Park Ji Eun writes is the kind that I really enjoy. I thought [the script] was funny, and I had a good feeling about it," Gong Hyo Jin shared.
The 35-year-old actress said Tak Ye Jin is the harshest character she's ever portrayed, explaining, "In the first episode, there's not a single scene where you'd find me smiling, and it's just filled with scenes where I teach newbies a lesson. [Despite her strong exterior] there are areas she's lacking in, and [Park Ji Eun wrote them in a way that they would seem charming and adorable],"
"Through a role that allows me to burst out in anger and scold others, I'm able to relieve my stress at the same time. However, I worry that I'll receive backlash for giving Kim Soo Hyun a hard time. Nevertheless, it's been fun."
We're definitely excited to see how Gong Hyo Jin will school Kim Soo Hyun in "The Producers" which will premiere in May 15.
