SG Wannabe's Kim Yong Joon and actress Hwang Jung Eun has officially ended their 9-year romance.
In a report from Yonhap News, it was revealed that Kim Yong Joon and Hwang Jung Eum have called it quits after 9 years of being together. The news was corroborated by confirmation by representatives from both camps.
Although the news is for real this time around, a source close to the former celebrity couple said that throughout the course of their 9-year relationship, Kim Yong Joon and Hwang Jun Eun have broken up and gotten back together several times, but it seems like there is no room for reconciliation this time around. "In the nearly ten years that they've been dating, they have broken up and then made up several times over little things. However, this time around both are firm on their decision [to break up]," the source said. It was also revealed that Hwang Jung Eum talked to Kim Yong Jun after she filmed "Kill Me, Heal Me", and it was after that that the couple decided to end things officially.
Hwang Jun Eum and Kim Yong Joon first got together in 2006. In an interview in October last year, Hwang Jung Eum still spoke very lovingly of Kim Yong Joon, saying, "I can't live without [him], but we always tell each other that [we're not meant for marriage.] But at the same time we asked each other, 'When are we getting married?' We have this mindset that if ever we decided to get married then we'll do it, but if along the way we break up then we break up. I don't like this thought, but I still love him."
Being together for 9 years is a long feat for any couple, especially if both of you are celebrities with prying eyes and controversies following you around. Fans are saddened to find out that the former celebrity power couple is now no more.
