As part of Pledis Entertainment's plan to break into the Chinese market, which began with their partnership with Chinese talent agency YUEHUA Entertainment, the company will be launching a special sub-unit called NU'EST-M!
Pledis Entertainment and YUEHUA Entertainment will officially inaugurate their joint venture through a press event to be held on November 11. The newly formed sub-unit NU'EST-M will perform for the first time at the event.
The group will exclusively target the Chinese market and will only do promotions in China. The group consists of the original NU'EST members with the addition of Chinese singer Jason.
For their first release, the 6-member idol group will be promoting the Chinese version of "Sleep Talking".
While most fans would think that the "M" in the group's name means "Mandarin", sources say it actually stands for "mystic", "marvellous", and "multiply".
With this new project, Pledis Entertainment said, "Joining hands with YUEHUA, we will be revealing our first project NU'EST-M. We believe the group will kick off to a great start as the existing NU'EST members and Jason showed good team work during the preparation stage. As the group is made up of talented individuals, we will do our best so that the group can achieve success in the Chinese market."
NU'EST-M will officially forego promotions beginning November 11.
